If you’ve torn your meniscus, you’ve probably been recommended to have either a partial resection or removal of your meniscus or a meniscus repair. These two surgeries are both aimed at improving your knee range of motion and pain. If we can preserve your meniscus we will. If your meniscus is no longer repairable, then a partial menosctamine or removal of the meniscus will get you back to range of motion and activity quickly. If the meniscus needs to be repaired, this involves stitches that stay in the knee and we have to limit your range of motion and weight-bearing following the procedure. You’ll work closely with physical therapy but we’re optimistic and looking forward to see you making a full recovery.
