What are the signs of a blood clot?

After hip or knee replacement surgery, certainly a concern is blood clots. Although, realize that these are rare. The signs of a blood clot are swelling in your legs, that just won’t go down with ice or elevation, and this is in the foot or the ankle. A blood clot can cause pain the calf or the thigh, although this is tough sometimes to tell if it is from a blood clot or the surgery. So the signs are: swellings of your foot and ankle that won’t go down with elevation, pain in the calf or thigh that is usually associated with redness and extreme tendenessr.
